About the White Cloud Minnow

The white cloud minnow is a small, hardy, schooling fish, known for its vibrant, shimmering bronze or gold body with a distinctive white stripe and red-tipped fins. Native to the mountainous regions of China, these temperate fish are adaptable, peaceful, and suitable for beginners, thriving in groups in planted tanks with cooler water temperatures. They typically grow to about 1.5 inches and accept a varied diet of flakes, micro-pellets, and live or frozen foods.

Temperament: Peaceful

Minimum Tank Size: 10 Gallons

Water Temperature: 57-74 °F

Water pH: 6.0-8.5

Social Group: 6+ fish. Larger schools need larger than a minimum tank volume

Diet: Omnivorous; this species will readily consume a wide variety of commercial flakes/pellets, frozen brine shrimp/bloodworms, live baby brine shrimp or daphnia.

Compatible with: Amano Shrimp, Mystery Snails, Dwarf Gourami, Betta, Neocaridina Shrimp, Bamboo Shrimp, Hillstream Loach, Kuhli Loach, and other peaceful community fish.
