Tiger barbs are vibrant, schooling freshwater fish from Southeast Asia. They are characterized by their striking vertical stripes, typically black and orange, on a metallic body. These active and social fish are popular in the aquarium trade due to their bold coloration and playful behavior.

Temperament: Semi-Aggressive

Minimum Tank Size: 40 Gallons

Water Temperature: 68-79 °F

Water pH: 5.0-8.0

Social Group: 6-8+ individuals

Diet: Omnivorous; This species will readily consume a wide variety of commercial pellets/flakes, frozen brine shrimp/bloodworms.

Compatible with: Plecos, Catfish (Corydoradinae), larger rainbowfish, larger tetras with short fins, Red Tail Shark (75+ Gallons required)
