About the Redtail Loach
The Redtail Loach (Yasuhikotakia modesta), is a Southeast Asian freshwater fish characterized by its stocky, bluish-gray body and vibrant red to orange fins. These bottom-dwellers grow large (up to 8 inches or more) and require a large, spacious aquarium with hiding places due to their territorial and semi-aggressive nature. They are natural snail predators and need to be kept with other similarly sized, semi-aggressive tank mates.
