About the VC-10 Hap

The Placidochromis milomo, also known as the Super VC 10 Hap, is a striking cichlid from Lake Malawi, known for its large, fleshy lips and vibrant coloration, particularly in males. These fish are relatively peaceful compared to other African cichlids and are popular in community aquariums with other Lake Malawi species.

Temperament: Semi-Aggressive

Minimum Tank Size: 55 Gallons

Water Temperature: 75-82 °F

Water pH: 7.6-8.8

Social Group: 3-4 females with one male

Diet: Omnivorous; Spirulina Flakes, Blanched Vegetables, frozen brine shrimp/bloodworms, live baby artemia

Compatible with: Keep with similarly sized Haps & Peacock Cichlids
