The Firemouth Cichlid (Thorichthys meeki) is a popular freshwater fish known for its vibrant coloration and interesting behavior. It features a turquoise-blue body with red markings on the throat and belly, and black banding along the sides. Males are typically more brightly colored and larger than females, sometimes reaching up to 6 inches in length.

Water Temperature: 68-89 °F

Water pH: 6.5-8.5

Social Group: Single Pair or 6+ Fish in larger aquariums

Diet: Omnivorous; detritus, spirulina flakes, blanched vegetables (spinach, zucchini), frozen brine shrimp/bloodworms, tubifex worms, blackworms

Compatible with: Swordtails, Platies, similar sized semi-aggressive New World Cichlids, Bristlenose Pleco, Bolivian Ram, Angelfish
