About the Vampire Shrimp
African Fan Shrimp, also known as Vampire Shrimp or Atya gabonensis, are fascinating freshwater crustaceans known for their unique fan-like appendages used for filter feeding. They are peaceful and relatively large, growing up to 6 inches long, and can be a captivating addition to a community aquarium. This shrimp prefers a TDS of 150-200 ppm with a moderate to high gH (6-20 degrees) and kH (2-15 degrees)

Social Group: (1+) This species can do well solitary or in a group within an appropriate aquarium volume.
Diet: Omnivorous; collects fine particles of food from the water column. Requires water with adequate flow to eat.
Compatible with: Peaceful community fish including but not limited to Corydoradinae Catfish, Neocaridina Shrimp, Harlequin Rasboras, Neon Tetras, Platies, Endler's Livebearer
