Aquarium Check Valves are Essential for Using Air Stones, Sponge Filters, and Air Pumps
Check Valves are one of the most important parts of setting up biological filtration systems, like sponge filters. They ensure that air flow is one way and water does not siphon up your airline during sudden power outages or when your air pump is turned off.
Directions for Use:
Place ONE Check Valve in between two pieces of airline that connect your air pump to your sponge filter or air stone. The valve should be facing the direction where the round/flat bottom is facing towards the air pump, and the less-narrow side in the direction of your sponge filter.
Air flow will not occur if your check valve is placed in the wrong direction!
