The Yellow Peacock Cichlid, scientifically known as Aulonocara baenschi, is a vibrant freshwater fish native to Lake Malawi, known for its bright yellow coloration and peaceful temperament. These cichlids are popular among aquarium hobbyists for their striking appearance and relatively calm demeanor compared to other African cichlids.

Temperament: Semi-Aggressive

Minimum Tank Size: 55 Gallons

Water Temperature: 77-84 °F

Water pH: 7.5-9.0

Social Group: Harem; 4-6 females per male

Diet: Omnivorous; Blanched vegetables (zucchini, spinach), spirulina flakes, frozen bloodworms/ brine shrimp, live baby brine shrimp.

Compatible with: Synodontis, Electric Blue Hap, do not keep with other Peacock Cichlids at the risk of potential hybridization.
