The Sunburst Platy, also known as the Sunset Platy, is a vibrant freshwater fish, a variation of the Xiphophorus maculatus species, known for its striking orange, red, and yellow coloration. This hardy and peaceful livebearer is popular in community tanks, especially among beginners, due to its adaptability and bright appearance.

Minimum Tank Size: 20 Gallons

Water Temperature: 68-79 °F

Water pH: 7.0-8.2

Social Group: For every male fish, keep 2-3 females to prevent excessive individual harassment/courtship.

Diet: Omnivorous; this species will readily accept a wide variety of commercial flakes/pellets, frozen daphnia/brine shrimp/bloodworms, and live baby brine shrimp or daphnia.

Compatible with: Best with peaceful, non-aggressive community fish including but not limited to neon tetras, catfish (Corydoradinae), Loaches, Honey Gourami, Dwarf Gourami, Plecos, Nerite Snails, Amano Shrimp
