The Pink Convict Cichlid, a color variation of the Convict Cichlid (Amatitlania nigrofasciata), is a freshwater fish known for its pale pink or white coloration with black stripes. They are generally smaller than the wild-type convict cichlids, reaching about 4-5 inches in length. They are popular in the aquarium hobby due to their vibrant color and interesting behavior.

Minimum Tank Size: 40 Gallons

Water Temperature: 75-82 °F

Water pH: 6.0-8.0

Social Group: M/F Pair; multiple pairs need to go in a larger aquarium

Diet: Omnivorous; this species will readily consume commercial flakes/pellets, live baby artemia, daphnia, frozen brine shrimp/bloodworms.

Compatible with: Not recommended to be kept with other fish. Convicts have been observed to challenge larger cichlids and other fish.
