About the Marigold Swordtail
Marigold Swordtail fish, scientifically known as Xiphophorus hellerii, are a vibrant, tank-bred variety of the common Swordtail, prized for their bright, marigold-like coloration and the distinctive "sword" extension on the male's lower caudal fin. These peaceful, livebearing fish are popular in community aquariums due to their hardy nature and beautiful appearance.
Because this species can get quite large in size (up to 4-5 inches in most captive specimens), it will need greater tank volumes compared to other livebearers. However, like most livebearers, Swordtails are fond of harder water parameters.
