Galaxy Koi Betta

A Galaxy Koi Betta a fish recognized for its unique, marbled "galaxy" color patterns featuring swirling blues, reds, white, and metallic iridescence, inspired by koi fish. These distinctive markings are created by a marble gene, resulting in a unique color layout for each individual. With their striking appearance and unique genetic traits, Galaxy Koi Bettas are prized for aquariums, especially in nano tanks.

Galaxy Koi and other strains of Koi and Marble bettas get their unique coloration from "Marble" genes. These genes are active and inactive at varying times across body regions throughout a fish's life. These are also the same genes as to why your Koi betta may look differently as it grows older!

Similarly seen across other lineages of domestic betta, planted aquariums are the preferred environment of this fish as well.

Temperament: Peaceful to Semi-Aggressive. Domestic bettas can vary in aggression on an individual basis.

Minimum Tank Size: 5 Gallons for a single betta. 10+ Gallons for additional tank mates

Social Group: Solitary

Diet: Carnivorous; Frozen Bloodworms/Brine Shrimp, Commercial Betta Diets, Live Flightless Fruit Flies
