The banana plant (Nymphoides aquatica) is a beginner plant that is common in the aquarium hobby. It gets its name from the banana resembling roots. When planting this plant it is important not to bury the roots. It is easier to just allow the plant to root itself by placing it above the substrate. Temperature range – 70 to 80 F

Propagation: Leaves that are trimmed and left floating on the water's surface will start to grow roots.
