About the Amano Shrimp
Amano shrimp (Caridina multidentata) are popular freshwater aquarium shrimp prized for their algae-eating capabilities and translucent appearance. They have a semi-transparent body with light brown or gray tint and a row of small reddish-brown dots along their sides. Amano shrimp are relatively large for freshwater shrimp, reaching up to 2.5 inches in length. Females tend to be larger than male individuals.

Social Group: Solitary or small group. Stocking 1 Amano Shrimp every 5 gallons ensures that each shrimp has ample food resources.
Diet: Omnivore; Algae, biofilm, commercial and frozen fish foods. Provide sources of calcium to promote molting. Amano shrimp will also eagerly consume freshly deceased fish in your aquarium.
Compatible with: Most peaceful community fish (tetras, rasboras), Catfish (Corydoradinae), Bristlenose Plecos, Clown Plecos, Bettas, Gourami
